Reflecting on 2025: Holding Space to Remember and Give Thanks
As we approach the final few days of 2025, the Marine Zero team is feeling grateful for the progress we’ve made in the last twelve months – with new partnerships formed, projects advanced, and a sense that the mission to cut emissions from the maritime sector is really gathering pace.
We’re also acknowledging a profoundly difficult challenge we faced this year, because 2025 will always be the year we lost our friend and colleague Andy Hurley. Our co-founding director passed away suddenly in July, and his absence has been felt deeply by every member of the team.
As the year draws to a close, we’re holding space to reflect – both to remember Andy and grieve his loss, but also to give thanks for everything he brought into our lives.
With 2026 ahead – and the progression of so many projects Andy led and championed, from Cornwall to the Caribbean via the Thames – we’re moving forward with the integrity, purpose, and determination he embodied, continuing the work he cared so deeply about.
Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey this year. We hope the festive break brings you joy, rest, and precious time with your loved ones.
We’re looking forward to 2026 and to continuing our work together, with some very exciting developments to share in the New Year.
